Hurricane Helene Southeast USA

Hurricane Helene in 2024 was a devastating storm, causing widespread destruction across the Southeastern United States. The reported death toll varies slightly depending on sources, but estimates range from 230 to 250 fatalities. Some 2 million people were without power. Debris-blocked roads and downed communication lines have hampered search and rescue efforts.

AMURT & AMURTEL has local volunteer relief teams in NW North Carolina. After the storm, they removed sludge, served hot meals, and provided food, non-food items, and small cash grants to those in need.

The affected communities will need support for a long time. Please donate to keep this effort going.
