starts construction of new school in Smolice, Kosovo
AMURT
organized the systematic de-mining of the Smolice school ground with
the help of the Halo Trust and started the construction of a new school
building in
May 2000.

The Smolice school was completely destroyed in the war |
The village's primary school was completely destroyed during the war. The remains of the old building (pictured above) was removed and with funding from the German Technical Corporation (GTZ), AMURT is building a brand new school. After the summer the children will finally be able to attend school in their own village again.
