A report on the refugee crisis, summer of 1999

Kosovar volunteers spent hours every day to  prepare food parcels which  have to  be packed by hand and contain basic items like  rice, beans, flour, sugar and oil.

Food  packages were distributed to Kosovar refugees  at municipal  offices and other distribution points.

This woman was sad because she could only find one shoe. She was  extremely satisfied when she  found the  second one!

Basketball is popular in Kosovo. During June AMURT Albania  organized  a  basketball tournament for the refugees in  Tirana.

 



Normal food  parcels given to the refugees  usually do not have fresh food.  AMURT Albania supplemented these parcels with fresh  food whenever it was possible.
